Navigation of the ocean is a difficult job, which has historically required many skills. It can be easily configured at any time to act as a stand-alone chartplotter, digital fishfinder, or radar, and has many different inputs such as the GPS Sensor, SIRIUS Satellite Radio and Marine Weather, and the HD Digital sounder module. With the Raymarine C80 on board you can be rest assured that running into sharp rocks or a freak storm will never happen, and the best fishing locations will always be easy to locate.
The Raymarine C80 contains an intuitive display interface, which even beginners will be able to use in no time at all. Another handy feature is the ability to combine the chartplotter, radar, or sonar, into a custom window of your creation. The Twist N’ Click⢠Rotary control provides easy alphanumeric waypoint storage. The C80 uses advanced LCD display technologies for the 8.4″ direct sunlight viewable, 256 color waterproof display, which has the perfect contrast and a wide angle screen for easy viewing. It also uses prismatic light enhancing screens, complete with integrated anti-glare filters, in order to keep the display sharp and clear throughout even the most challenging lighting conditions. Whether the sun is glaring brightly, or you’re stuck in fog with drizzling rain, the Raymarine C80 will always be there for you.
If you want to configure the C80 to act as a stand-alone GPS chartplotter, all you need to do is simply connect an optional Raystar GPS Sensor and choose Navionics charts, in order to display the GPS charting system. The chartplotter sports such advanced features as support for professional quality Navionics vector charts on CompactFlash, fast chart screen redraw, 256 color high resolution display, AIS Target tracking, on-screen VHF DSC position reports, and Loran TD positioning mode, among many other things. Your vessel and waypoint will also be accurately tracked on the best chart scale while underway, thanks wholly to an intelligent built-in “Auto Range” feature. This state-of-the-art GPS system is what makes the Raymarine C80 one of the best chartplotters available.
Making use of the latest HD Digital⢠technology, and an optional Raymarine Digital Sounder Module, the Raymarine C80 chartplotter can be configured as a fantastic stand-alone fishfinder! Using HD Digital adaptive receiver technology, fish and bottom structure are targeted with amazing clarity, up to a maximum depth of 5000 ft. (1700 meters.) Additional options include Bottom lock, A-Scope, and zoom modes. Clutter is virtually eliminated due to hands free HD Digital technology which automatically adjusts more than 220 sonar parameters per second. It’s the perfect tool for beginner and experienced mariners alike.
If you’re interested in evaluating the Raymarine’s radar performance, simply connect an optional radome or open-array antenna to any Raymarine C Series display to create a powerful radar system. Upon activating the system, many powerful features become available such as MARPA (Mini-Automatic-Radar-Plotting-Aid) target tracking, waypoint navigation and multiple waypoint overlay, and AIS Target tracking using the optional Raymarine AIS250. Enhanced target returns are provided through every range scale, due to advanced microprocessor controlled transmitter-receivers which feature 8 pulse width/PRF settings. The receiver also has a low noise figure (less than 5 dB), and Auto GST⢠fully automatic gain, sea clutter, and tune control, make for real hands off operation.
